WHAT IS ITERATION.COFFEE?
Iteration.Coffee is the R&D coffee project of Rob Hoos. Its goal is to change how people learn about coffee and roasting by allowing people who read my content to taste the experiments for themselves. The box sets are the primary platform for this. Each boxed set contains a series of bags of roasted coffee and a small (or large) book written about whatever topic that particular set is focusing on. In addition to the book and the tasting, everyone has a chance to interact with one another and Rob concerning the experiments and their impressions of each one. Why do you have a space theme?
In some science fiction writing, the exploration of space is able to bring humanity (as a whole) together. Humanity moving into the great unknown causes them to bond together with a common purpose and identity. Often this is romanticized in the way the space race that happened in the mid 20th century in the United States is described (though the USA was just trying to beat their cold-war competitors).
Iteration.Coffee provides opportunity for exploration. It carries some bizarre and incredible coffees for both the Iteration and Exploration lines.
Iteration.Coffee also provides coffees that celebrate the comfort and ritual that the coffee beverage brings to countless individuals worldwide.
Iteration.Coffee is also experimenting with complete transparency about who grew the coffees you’re enjoying, and allow opportunities for you to connect with the people who grow and process the coffee you enjoy.
Think of it as a “test-roastery…”
A “test roastery” pulls ideas from the culinary “test kitchen” and “learning kitchen.” Here, the goal is to search for new and exciting flavors in coffee, explore roast profiling, conduct research, and train coffee roasters. Basically, it’s a fully functioning coffee roastery designed around education and exploration. It is an Oregon Department of Agriculture certified food production facility that services the local Rainier, OR community and the world wide coffee roasting community via online orders delivered through USPS and DHL Express.
Iteration.Coffee is Rob Hoos’ project. He is an educator who focuses specifically on how to roast coffee, and is known worldwide as an expert in the field of specialty coffee roasting. Rob is a published author whose book on coffee roasting has sold more than 11,400 copies worldwide.
